The Partnership is hiring: PARENT  LIAISON

The Parent Liaison  (PL) will collaborate with Partnership staff and the Executive Council (EC ) to set and guide the outreach strategy to solicit parent input on needs/perceptions/concerns including but not limited to alcohol and drug use in the community.  The PL will hold the overall big picture for supporting parent involvement and participation in Partnership activities.

Responsibilities:

· Provide leadership for the Partnership Parent Workgroup

· Attend school and community events that attract parents (sports, music, drama events etc.) to build relationships and conduct in-person interviews/distribute parent input surveys

· Organize and run parent focus groups and individual key informant interviews on perceptions , values and needs re community health and well - being including substance abuse and use;  adolescent development; parenting;  school connectedness.

· Help create a network of parents who are active in the community.

· Coordinate Annual Community Awards Celebration.

· Collaborate with other service providers who work with parents.

Knowledge and Skills:

· Experience and familiarity with sustainable grassroots organizing strategies for diverse community sectors.

· Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to effectively interact and communicate with internal and external coalition partners at all levels. Outgoing, comfortable in new environments.

· Problem-solving, administrative and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; experience working collaboratively as well as independently.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills across wide variety of platforms including

public presentations and key informant interviews.

· Flexible scheduling including some nights and weekends as needed.

· Technical skills: Microsoft Office, comfort using social media.

· Experience running meetings, social norms marketing campaigns, focus groups and creating surveys helpful.

· Bi-lingual Spanish/English a plus.

Qualified applicants:

Ideal candidate has 2-4 years experience in community relations, organizing or advocacy-related work although this position is not primarily an advocate; commitment to the goals of The Partnership; can work independently as well as collaboratively; experience and comfort working in diverse communities.

12-14 hours a week, 44 weeks a year.

$16 -$18/hr based on experience
