The Northfield Mount Hermon (NMH) Upward Bound Program is recruiting 9th graders from the following public high schools: Holyoke, Springfield Central, High School of Science and Technology, Greenfield and Turner’s Falls.

Upward Bound is a free, federally funded, year-round intensive college preparation program for students who meet income eligibility requirements or whose parents do not have a bachelor’s degree. From the time they start with Upward Bound until they graduate, participants receive tutoring, advising, after school classes, and assistance with college and financial aid applications. The services take place at their local high schools during the school year and on the NMH campus in the summer.

Upward Bound students spend six weeks each summer on the NMH campus where they take classes, go on college and cultural trips, and participate in both college preparatory and recreational activities. Upward Bound graduates have a very high rate of college acceptance, enrollment and completion. Upward Bound graduates usually receive excellent financial aid to attend college.
