Search for the next Superintendent of Schools...

posted Jan 3, 2013, 10:06 AM by Maria Geueke
The Gill-Montague Regional School Committee is currently searching for the next Superintendent of Schools.

To help us with this most important decision, we are seeking representatives to serve on a Search Advisory Committee, which will be responsible for narrowing a semi-finalist field of eight to ten candidates to three to five finalists.  This difficult task will require that the representative commit to the interview schedule. Only those representatives who participate in all the interviews will be allowed to take part in the finalist selection.

The Search Advisory Committee will be comprised of fifteen (15) individuals (3 teachers, 3 parents ( one elementary, one middle school and one high school), 2 administrators, 1 student, 1 senior citizen, 2 Select Board members (one from each town), 1 Sped Director and 2 community members) representing various groups within both communities. This committee will meet with our search advisor, Pat Correira from the Massachusetts Association of School Committees on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday, February 6, 2013 to review the selection criteria and compose questions for the interviews.
The interviews will take place on March 11, 12, 13, and 18 and 19, 2013.  Interviews will be scheduled beginning at 6:00 p.m. each evening and ending at 9:15 p.m. Each interview will last one hour and there will be a fifteen-minute break between interviews. The selection of the three to five finalists will occur after the last interview on March 19, 2013.

Any interested party who would like to be considered for the advisory committee should notify the School Committee in writing by January 4, 2013. Letters of interest can be sent to the Gill-Montague Regional School Department, 35 Crocker Ave, Turners Falls, MA 01376 Attn: Joyce Phillips - Supt. Search

Thank You,
Robin Hamlett, Exec. Assistant to Supt.
