The Gill Montague Community School Partnership has been selected to receive one of six Peter R. Lee Healthy Communities Awards at the Massachusetts Department of Health 2013 Ounce of Prevention Conference (Many Paths to Healthier Communities).

In previous years, the Department of Public Health has recognized individuals and groups for their outstanding contributions to community health improvement through, most recently, the Community Transformation Awards. In 2013, they renamed these awards in honor of Peter Lee, the late Director of the Massachusetts Partnership for Healthy Communities at Health Resources in Action.  Peter was a leader in the healthy communities movement in Massachusetts and across the country before his untimely death on December 25, 2012.  He personified the principles of Healthy Communities in his professional and personal life. He was a longtime participant and organizer of Ounce of Prevention Conference through the 2012 conference.

Thanks to all those in Gill and Montague that contribute to making our community healthy!
